The Avis Lukach Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to Northwest Indiana residents to assist healthcare workers who lack access to traditional scholarships, enabling them to pursue further education in healthcare. The scholarship continues as a lasting testament to Mrs. Lukach's vision.
Anyone employed in the healthcare field who desires to advance their healthcare-related education through formal courses, certificate courses or specialized training may apply for this scholarship. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.
Application deadline: Return to the VNA office no later than January 13, 2017.
VNA and the family of Tricia Marie Simpson Russell established a memorial scholarship to assist Northwest Indiana nursing students with advancing their education.
Tricia, a primary nurse during her four years at VNA, was a role model for nurses and was the first to volunteer to pilot the primary/staff nurse team concept to improve the quality and continuity of patient care.
According to family members, Tricia loved being a nurse. Tricia was a kind, caring and generous person who believed that nothing was more important than being a mother and a nurse.
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of application to/current enrollment in a nursing program in the state of Indiana. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.
